A North Carolina student is shouted down by a teacher who told him he could be arrested for saying bad things about Barack Obama, simply because he's the current President.





This is way out of bounds, and borders on the indoctrination fears that many felt...BEFORE the last election.  This is from the Blaze,

The kerfuffle started after one student asked a question about the teacher’s “fact of the day” that said Romney was a bully back in high school. A student asked:

“Didn’t Obama bully somebody, though?”

The teacher started to get angry and said:

“Not to my knowledge.”

A couple of students relayed the story about Obama admitting that he bullied someone when he was younger. And that seemed to light the fuse on his teacher’s anger. A couple of the students exchanged words with the angry teacher.

“Stop! Stop! Because there’s no comparison. He’s running for president. Obama is the president.”

As one student attempted to argue for a fair, two-sided debate on the history of the candidates, he was shouted down and talked over by the teacher. She continued:

“You got to realize, this man is wanting to be what Obama is. There’s no comparison.”

Once again, the students pressed for equal discussion of the histories of both men, with one saying:

“If you’re gonna talk trash about one side, you gotta talk trash about the other.”

The teacher just seemed to dig her heels in deeper and press her defense of Obama telling the defiant teen:

“You will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom.”

Again the student persisted and invoked his First Amendment right.

“I’ll say what I want.”

The still unidentified teacher read the student her rules…her Obama rules.

“Not about him, you won’t!”

The back and forth continued and the most strident of the two students reminded his teacher that President Bush was constantly treated to negative statements about him while he was in office:

“Whenever Bush was president, everybody talked sh-t about him.”

To which the teacher responded:

“Because he was sh-tty.”

After all, doesn't anyone remember this?

I'm not a birther, but I think that the MSM has cast a blind eye on Mr. Obama's background.  They utterly failed to vet him, and are still ignoring many of the glaring issues of his past.  These are certainly questions that must be looked into...

Dept of Labour Censoring Journalists?

The Federal Dept of Labour announced on Friday that it would limit the number of journalists who were given access to information.  For decades, journalists have arrived in DOL and entered the limited access area for the official release of information.  The Washington Times is reporting that there is a huge exception to this,

But Carl Fillichio, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ top communications advisor, circulated a memo earlier this week to interested media informing them that everybody is being required to re-submit their credentials requests.
Fillichio reminded participants that there are only 20-30 seats available for the lockups and that priority will be given by DOL in selecting participants to those that “are primarily journalistic enterprises.”

He also offered a one-sentence assurance that “the department will not consider editorial or political viewpoints in making credentialing decisions.” 

Whatever grumbling might be occasioned by being forced to go through the credentialing process again, the element of the Fillichio memo that has journalists worried is this paragraph:
“Second, as a measure toward enhancing security in its main lockup facility (the DOL news room), the department will supply and maintain standardized equipment with a standard configuration for all participants. This change means that privately owned computer and telephone equipment, including hardware, software, cabling, wiring and Internet and telephone lines will be replaced with equipment owned by the department.”

 This may be the first instance of government bureaucrats effectively shielding an administration from bad news since the institution of civil service reform in the late 19th Century.  If this is in fact the case, it's a subversion of a branch of the government by a political party for it's own gain.  That's very ominous for the future.  What it means is that,

“Delays will make it more difficult for independent analysts to understand the new data and could give White House and DOL political appointees more time to blunt the impact of the negative news resulting from the data.”

That means that bad news will not be disseminated nearly as fast as is currently the case.  Furthermore, by actively attempting to slow they news cycle, it in effect it is the repoliticization of government civil service.  If the GOP wins both the White House and Senate this fall, they can expect  that the civil service will begin to "passively-aggressively" to work against any policies they  may attempt to institute.

If the GOP were to do something similar to this, the MSM would be screaming to high heaven about how "those evil conservatives" were attempting to subvert or politicize the government bureaucracy.

In 2008, President Obama understood this distinction. In 2012, his administration is pretending the distinction does not exist.

Context: The slide we were on just before was about Female Sexual Selection. For instance, female peacocks have selection in their mates, preferring the males with the bigger train of feathers.. Somehow she went off on some tangent with a question about how does Evolution play a role in the killing of all black people...

Dr. Kajiura tried to answer her question even though he had no idea what she was talking about. She repeated her question 4-5 more times and it turned into this craziness you see here... Clearly, this person has some SERIOUS emotional issues within herself and the discussion of PEACOCKS was the catalyst to the unleashing of this insanity.

She was escorted out of class and I heard she was tasered and arrested by the police. Today was our review day before a test on Thursday and students were getting irritated by her wasting our time. No one understood what her point was... Craziest thing I've ever seen.

Apparently natural selection doesn't remove crazy from the population."

I guess her hope and change just isn't working out as she'd planned.

Some Primary Sanity...

During the last few presidential campaigns, the chaos that the media seems to revel in has gotten out of hand this year.  With all the idiocy that's involved in this state or that state going 'first', perhaps it's time to invoke some sanity.

As a (somewhat) pundit, I, of course, have a few ideas on this.  Basically, it's tied to the tradition of the Iowa caucuses going "first," followed by the "first" primary in New Hampshire.  But after that, pretty much all the rest of the states vie for being the next first.

Instead of that, maybe it's time to rearrange things a bit...

Iowa would still have the 1st caucuses.
New Hampshire would still be the 1st primary...

but after that maybe we should build upon the idea of having regional primaries, where groups of states all vote somewhat together in a rolling series of "super tuesdays".

For instance, the "first" regional primary following New Hampshire would be New England.

That would be followed by the Mid-Atlantic states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland).

Following that would be the South Atlantic (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama).

Mid-West (Ohio, Michigan, Indianna, Illinois)

Mid-South (Kentuckey, Tennessee, West Virginia, Arkansas, Missouri)

Deep South (Alabama,  Mississippi, Lousianna, Texas)

Upper Mid-West (Wisconsin, Minnisota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska)...

You get the picture.  This would bring some sanity to what has become a mish-mash of idiotic process by which we select your president.

$4, $5 Per Gallon of Gas...McCain Was Right

In 2008, John McCain predicted that if Barack Obama was elected president, Obama's energy policies would see $4 +  per gallon of gas...McCain was right...




Obama's energy policies are predicated on the proposition that expensive costs would make 'green' energy sources financially viable. That's the only way that solar-wind production system will break even. That's why the Obama administation has enforced a moritorium on energy production off the coasts of the Carolinas and in the Gulf of Mexico as well as shale oil in western states, much less Alaska.

In 1995, the Clinton administration denied further exploitation of Alaskan oil fields on the rationalization that it would take 10 years for those fields to produce oil...that was 17 years ago.  The current administration is content to deny the construction of the Keystone pipeline that would rapidly bring Canadian shale oil to refineries along the Gulf coast.  I suspect that's because a number of his larger donors (George Soros being one) own stock in the rail companies what are currently making huges sums of money in shipping that oil via the more expensive rail routes.

While Ms. Hochul claims that religious organizations are exempt from the provisions that require birth control...but they aren't.  The Obama regime has kicked it to their insurers...but most religious organizations are self insured.  They will still have to pay for birth control, regardless of what their religious beliefs are.

the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.   Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night."  So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?"  So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?"  So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports.

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?"  So they created two positions: a time keeper and a payroll officer then hired two people.

Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?" So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one Year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back."  So they laid-off the night watchman.

NOW slowly, let it sink in.

When I was a kid back...well, a long time ago, the album Aqualung by Jethro Tull was released. The songs bowled me over...at the time, I lived in Panama City, Florida...and back in those days, if there was a bright spot in the centre of the universe, then PC was about as far from as you could get. But, that album made me want to learn how to play flute. Eventually, I learned all the songs from it.
