Thank You...
The dust has finally settled, and I have the chance to thank all of those (hundreds of) people who were so very kind and generous. I wanted to thank each of you individually, but...there were so many of you that wasn't possible to do so.
So, please, everyone who was so kind, Cheri and I would like to thank you. Your generosity allowed us to leave Maryland and move back to the metro-Detroit region that Cheri grew up in and 2 of our 3 kids live in. It took us 4 days to pack the U-Haul truck, and we arrived in Dearborn, MI at 1:30 am on December 25, 2014. We chose to leave Maryland because in the seven years since the 2008 recession, Cheri has been unable to find full time work.
With the huge invaision of illegals taking over the construction trades since then, I too have struggled to keep working full time, after all, why would any company struggling to remain in business pay me a professional wage to work, when they can pay 2-3 illegals to do the same job for what I was making? That is the paradox of illegal immigration, they put far more pressure on the working class than any one else...
...but that's not the point of this post, it is to thank all those wonderful people who helped us. We had originally hoped merely to keep our heads above water in the Baltimore/DC area...but instead we were able to leave and come back to Cheri's home, where things are finally turning around economically.
So once more, I would like to thank all those whose generosity allowed us to make the move.

Thank You
I would like to thank everyone who donated money last week. Cheri and I were shocked at the outpouring of generosity. I had hoped for enough to keep our heads above water, so to speak, but everyone's kindness was well beyond what I could have possibly hoped. It was enough for us to move to where I can find work. Over the next few weeks, as we get settled in, I will be thanking each of you personally.

Disaster!
The company I work as a carpenter/installer for, Atlantic Fixtures in the Baltimore, MD area, as a punishment for having to have a follow up appointment for some ribs I had broken back in April, decided to give a a week off unpaid...even though the job I was to work on in Annapolis, MD area, I would have been able to stay at home and drive there every morning...
To make a long story short, I am being evicted from my house tomorrow...because losing a week's pay meant I couldn't pay my rent this month. My wife is freaking out trying to pack everything by 10 am tomorrow...and to add insult to injury, I have about $80.00 in the bank. We tried Jewish Family Services in Baltimore for help, but they turned us down. A friend has rented us a UHaul and a storage unit so that we can save as much of our stuff as possible...
...Is there anyone in the metro-Baltimore area that has a bed she can sleep on this weekend? I am stuck in Poughkeepsie, NY working on installing the millwork in a Kay jewelry store...she won't let me come home to help because I'll probably lose my job. I'm desperate...
I thought that we had another week, when my next paycheck would hit, with the expense money, etc., I could have done it...but not now. I have nothing coming in. We need help.

Blogger Assistance Needed...
Zilla of the Resistance needs help. I hope that you can help her. Having been on the receiving end of someone else's generosity, I hope that you, out there in the interwebs, will hit her tip jar as hard as you can.
