If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

Obama Administration Blocks Media Coverage Of Oil Spill

This report is from CNN and Anderson Cooper! You know, one of the biggest cheerleading networks for Obama over the past 3 years...so, the Obama Administration has tossed out the 1st Amendment and Freedom of the Press...

AC repeatedly states "We are not the enemy here...", but it  seems that transparency isn't what the Obama Administration wants...but then, this Administration promised to be the most open and transparent ever.   This, sadly, has not been the case.

Gov Christ Praises Obama on Oil Spill, Then Why Is P'cola Beach Closed

Dear Gov Christ,
In this video, you sing praises of Mr. Obama's handling of the Gulf Oil spill...

but why is Pensacola Beach now closed and why is the federal government planning to evacuate Tampa Bay?  Veteran's Today reports:
As FEMA and other government agencies prepare for what is now being called the worst oil spill disaster in history, plans to evacuate the Tampa Bay area are in place.

The plans would be announed in the event of a controlled burn of surface oil in the Gulf of Mexico, or if wind or other conditions are expected to take toxic fumes through Tampa Bay.

This practice has been used by the US Forestry service, when fire and smoke threaten the health and well being of people.

The elderly and those with respiratory problems would be more susceptible to health risks, in the event of a controlled burn.

Estimates of the rate of BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill have varied. Independent scientists now suggest that the true spill rate, before the riser pipe was cut off in June, was between 20,000 and 50,000 barrels a day.

Since the April 20th explosion, which resulted in the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig, there have been more than a million gallons of chemicals poured into the Gulf of Mexico in efforts to break up the spill. The chemicals have come under scrutiny because of their own toxic nature.

It is not certain if the massive slick will have to be set on fire near Tampa Bay, but the possibility has not been ruled out.
Don't you think it's a little past time to depend upon Uncle Sugar/Barack Obama to get you elected to the US Senate?  Perhaps you might want to do what YOU CAN DO as governor  of one of the wealthier states and start laying oil booms and building sand berms, since the Fed can't seem to do either.  Charlie, do the job the people elected you to do, not the one you want now...

Impeach Obama?

Rudy Guilianni has an interesting point here via the Blogprof:

He also points out the biased coverage inherent by the MSM.

Here he is on Fox News:

Rudy makes an interesting point here:  Obama has appointed 50 Czars, 12 commissions...but still hasn't done much about anything...all talk and no action or leadership.

Obama & The Oil Spill

This is from a reader:

Rich,

We have a catastrophe on our hands. The British Petroleum oil spill is going to alter our environment for decades to come. But not to worry, President Barack Obama says he is on the job.

It shouldn’t matter that it took him more than 35 days to visit the area to assess the damage and view the carnage that this spill has caused. It shouldn’t matter that in the next 20 days, he will have visited the area four more times. Not really doing anything other than providing photo-ops or talking to reporters covering the incident.

Talk, talk, talk – that’s all he does. He doesn’t go out on a boat to view the destruction of the barrier islands, the marshes, the dead birds or the dead rotting sea creatures. But he grips hands and grins for photo ops. He approaches the microphones, flanked by Teleprompters and talks, talks and talks. And the news media goes crazy and claims to the American public that all is ok - as our President is in the area.

The only thing the media is missing, in the message, is an actual pompom in their hands, jumping up and down, doing back flips to a John Phillip Sosa march. But because Obama talked to the reporters – all is fine in small town USA. And the fractured deep-water oil well continues to gush. But not to fear, Obama will meet with BP officials on this coming Wednesday –“to kick a little ass.”

I am a little confused – because Ia can see that he can’t do a damn thing and yet this is the same person that Americans (Democrats) have entrusted to run, operate and manage the future healthcare delivery system.

I am not only confused but I am happy that I am one day older and closer to death. Let us hope that registered voters remember this in November.

Obama Blames GOP For Gulf Oil Spill

In an interview with Politico.com, Barack Obama, yet again fends off responsibility for anything that happens in America.  He's blaming the GOP for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  He said in the interiew with Roger Simon,
“I think it’s fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.”

When is he going to begin taking responsibility for the inept "big government" he is attempting to force upon us?  Ken Salazar is his Interior Secretary, who was appointed to clean up the mess in that department.  This is the department who as late as the end of last gave BP an award for safety on this oil rig and who has done nothing to implement any sort of reforms to the department.

It's well past time for this administration to begin to take responsibility for it's actions, or in this case, non-actions and stop blaming others, or the previous admnistration.

Obama Administration Disaster Response 11 Days Late

As the Obama Administration stumbles far worse than Mr. Bush's did after Katrina...they have finally appointed someone to coordinate the effort...11 Days Late
Janet Napolitano appointed Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Thad Allen to coordinate the federal response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. That's great, but the oil rig blew up eleven days ago, on April 20. In the meantime, the oil slick has tripled in size over the last two days and is approaching the Gulf coast. Now there is speculation that the oil could make its way all the way to the Atlantic. President Obama, reversing an earlier announcement, made hasty plans to visit the Gulf tomorrow.

The Obama administration's slow-footed response to the disaster threatens to become a major political problem, as the spill itself threatens to turn into one of the worst environmental disasters ever. You're doing a heck of a job, Napolitanie!
With all the exoriation that was piled upon the Bush Adminstration following Katrina where according to the legacy media "tens of thousands of people have died", you'd expect them to hit the Obama administration just as hard.  Because, while only the 11 workers who were on the rig have died, the economic effects of this huge spill will be far more widespread.

In the past 2 days, while the Obama Administration has dithered, the spill has grown more than 3 times as large.  Had a rapid response been implemented early in the disaster, it could have been contained far more easily.  But unfortunately, this administration has been far more intent on Tea Party inspired/Right Wing terrorist threats, that just don't exist, than to actually do something concrete.  After all, old ladies singing "God Bless America" is obviously a threat that need the riot squad.

Pesonally, I think their very delayed response has been specifically eliminate all coastal drilling by showing "this is what can happen."  This has been allowed to evolve into a huge problem in order to silence those, like myself, who think that drilling for oil in our own coastal waters is preferable to purchasing oil from OPEC.  That in my opinion, is why this has been permitted to baloon as much as it has.
