“I think it’s fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.”
When is he going to begin taking responsibility for the inept "big government" he is attempting to force upon us? Ken Salazar is his Interior Secretary, who was appointed to clean up the mess in that department. This is the department who as late as the end of last gave BP an award for safety on this oil rig and who has done nothing to implement any sort of reforms to the department.
It's well past time for this administration to begin to take responsibility for it's actions, or in this case, non-actions and stop blaming others, or the previous admnistration.
