Rich,
We have a catastrophe on our hands. The British Petroleum oil spill is going to alter our environment for decades to come. But not to worry, President Barack Obama says he is on the job.
It shouldn’t matter that it took him more than 35 days to visit the area to assess the damage and view the carnage that this spill has caused. It shouldn’t matter that in the next 20 days, he will have visited the area four more times. Not really doing anything other than providing photo-ops or talking to reporters covering the incident.
Talk, talk, talk – that’s all he does. He doesn’t go out on a boat to view the destruction of the barrier islands, the marshes, the dead birds or the dead rotting sea creatures. But he grips hands and grins for photo ops. He approaches the microphones, flanked by Teleprompters and talks, talks and talks. And the news media goes crazy and claims to the American public that all is ok - as our President is in the area.
The only thing the media is missing, in the message, is an actual pompom in their hands, jumping up and down, doing back flips to a John Phillip Sosa march. But because Obama talked to the reporters – all is fine in small town USA. And the fractured deep-water oil well continues to gush. But not to fear, Obama will meet with BP officials on this coming Wednesday –“to kick a little ass.”
I am a little confused – because Ia can see that he can’t do a damn thing and yet this is the same person that Americans (Democrats) have entrusted to run, operate and manage the future healthcare delivery system.
I am not only confused but I am happy that I am one day older and closer to death. Let us hope that registered voters remember this in November.

The heading sounds like the one suitable for a detective story :)
