Article 1, Section 9, Constitution of the United States

If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

Unemployment Promises: Damning Graph

Via the blogfather, here's a graph that shows how much of a failure the 1st "Stimulus Package" was...

Now, Mr. Obama is proposing to borrow an additional $450 billion dollars to "stimulate" the economy again.  The general definition of insanity (or stupidity) is to repeat an action, all the while hoping for a different outcome...

The 1st "stimulus" (oops, Employment Act) failed dismally.  Mr. Obama's proposal is literally more of the same.  Giving money to state, county and municipalities in order to avoid their having to layoff more SEIU members...is very nearly a payoff.  Since, we all know now, "shovel ready" infrastructure projects only exist in the fevered minds of bureaucrats, just how does Mr. Obama propose that these projects be started immediately?

This proposed "stimulus" is merely a political ploy of this politician.  He means to use it as a method to beat the GOP candidates and Republican party in general "those mean people wouldn't give me what I wanted to save the country...they're 'unpatriotic'..."  You get the idea, or as James Pethokoukis points out.
“There’s been much speculation that President Barack Obama will spend $1 billion to get reelected. Turns out those guesses were off by $446 billion. What Americans heard last night was a $447 billion political plan, not an economic one. It’s purpose was to a) fire up the demoralized Democratic base and b) show independents that Obama is trying to do something – anything – to reduce unemployment.”
Mr. Obama is running scared and is out of ideas.  He has no clue what to do, and neither do any of the academics with whom he has filled his "economic team."

Rahm On The Way Out?

Rumours are swirling around that Rahm Emanuel is on the way out the door...possibly before the election heats up.
DC clairvoyants say Rahm Emanuel will leave as President Obama's chief-of-staff in the not-too-distant future. Though once a congressman himself, Emanuel is said to be frustrated with lawmakers who won't bend to his will.
Valerie Jarret is said to be the one who will his place.

Obama Administration Slighting the British?

Since the early part of World War 2, the United States and the United Kingdom have had a "special relationship." Diplomatically, militarily as well as on the level of state intelligence. The British are the only nation with whom our government has shared, nearly without limit, intelligence on potential enemies. We have for more than 70 years been allies of the closest sort.

That relationship began with Sir Winston Churchill and FDR. The principals have changed, Ron & Maggie, Bush & Blair, but the closeness has always been consistently there. American satellite and reconnaissance aircraft overflights permitted the United Kingdom to defeat the Argentines in the Falklands War of the early 1980's, while Eisenhower's opposition to the 1956 conflict certainly didn't damage the informal agreements. However, when Mr. Obama gave his speech at the USMA, West Point there was one very important contribution that was ignored...that of the United Kingdom. They have the 2nd largest troop presence in Afghanistan. That oversight has miffed our allies "across the pond" to the point that relations are definitely cooling. From a British point of view this means...
Given the level of sacrifice by British troops, it was the most extraordinary and insulting oversight.
Had this been a one-off omission, it might have been overlooked as a careless mistake by a president preoccupied with trying to sell a difficult message to his own people. But it wasn't.

In all the speeches Obama has made since becoming President - indeed, in all the speeches he made when on the campaign trail, too - neither Britain nor the special relationship have merited a single mention.

The only conclusion that can be drawn is that while the special relationship may not be dead yet, it's certainly dying, a fact that should be enormously worrying to politicians - and voters - on both sides of the Atlantic.

And yet Obama seems strangely oblivious to the dangerous path he has embarked on, becoming the first U.S. President in modern times to place no importance on the historic relationship between the U.S. and Britain. This is a watershed moment in the political evolution of our two countries.

This, after all, is a man who, within days of being sworn in as President, ordered that a bust of Winston Churchill - a gift from the British people to the U.S. in the dark days that followed 9/11 - be removed from the Oval Office.

It now languishes, apparently totally unappreciated by its recipient, in the British Embassy in Washington.

Unlike so many of his predecessors, Obama is certainly a man with no close family ties to this country. He never attended a university here and has no great political affinity with Britain either.

His Kenyan grandfather, however, was reportedly mistreated under British colonial rule during that country's Mau Mau rebellion - an event to which he devotes 35 pages of his memoir, Dreams From My Father.

Small wonder that his relationship with Gordon Brown borders upon the disastrous.
Even some of our Prime Minister's sternest critics - myself among them - thought he was appallingly treated by the Obama administration when he visited Washington in March.

Denied the traditional honour of a joint press conference in the Rose Garden of the White House, Brown was treated more like a Third World dictator than the Prime Minister of Great Britain. His farewell present from the U.S. President of 25 DVDs can have done nothing to repair the damage. {more to the point...those DVD's are formatted for American DVD players, NOT the UK...another blunder, ed.}

Nor have things improved since, with Obama apparently keener on sitting down with President Ahmadinejad of Iran, or cosying up to his new friends in France or Germany than he is on spending time with the Prime Minister. Indeed, he singularly failed to do just that when both men were in New York in September for the United Nations' General Assembly.

Once again, Obama's refusal to grasp that opportunity to stress the special relationship was seen as an insult to Britain.
This from the President who is supposed to get the world to love America because of his Ascension to the highest office of the land...after "He is The One We've Been Waiting For"...He is the first President in 70 years not to meet with the Prime Minister when the PM has come to address the UN.
Britain needs America - of that there is no doubt. But recent history shows that America needs Britain, too. Barack Obama needs to wake up to that; before it's too late.

Obama's Economist Says Bump From Stimulus Bill Over

Mr. Obama and his minions promised that unemployment wouldn't pass 8% with the stimulus. Then they promised that the depression would be over by the end of this year...but,
An interesting tidbit from Dr. Christina Romer’s testimony before the Joint Economic Committee. Citing economic analysts she says the fiscal stimulus will have its greatest impact on growth in the second and third quarters of 2009. (Editors note – those quarters are now behind us). By mid-2010, according to her testimony submitted to the committee, the “fiscal stimulus will likely be contributing little to growth.” What does that mean? Growth in the economy will be dependent on the private sector. And for those who think the recession is over – the Administration still predicts the unemployment rate won’t dip below 10% until the third quarter of 2010 – that’s next summer.
Now, the 2nd and 3rd Qtr's are gone...no more bump. So WHY ARE WE CONTINUING TO SPEND THE STIMULUS MONEY IF IT'S NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING? I realize that our "political elite" thinks that they are smarter than we, in flyover country, are. But seems to reason, that if it ain't working, why continue? As Jennifer Rubin points out in Commentary Magazine,
The administration promised that unemployment would remain below 8 percent if a trillion-dollar (interest-included) grab bag of liberal goodies passed. It hasn’t panned out — we have the debt but not the jobs. And the administration will not, I suspect, endear itself to the American people by claiming that the results “exceeded expectations.”
Yet these are the people who want to take over health care and say they'll "save the country money." Yeah, right. Governments, and ours in particular, do nothing efficiently. Take a look at medicare. It was projected to top out early this decade at roughly $400 billion in total costs...it's above 10 times that now. Pure efficiency at work. They tell us they'll be able to control corruption, but there are factual accounts that Medicare is rife with double payments and cost overruns. The Senate, for the first time in history defeated a bill that would remove the automatic price controls that were set in place to keep Medicare from ballooning in cost...THE FIRST TIME it's ever happened!

Anita Dunn, Disciple of Chairman Mao

Anita Dunn, in June of this year, addressed a graduating class. In her speech, she said in that Mao Tse Dung and Mother Teresa are, Ms. Dunn explained,
"the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point, which is to say you are going to make choices, you are going to challenge, you are going to say why not." She then quoted a Mao statement about winning the Chinese civil war his way: "You fight your war and I will fight mine."
To make matters worse, she continued to invoke Chairman Mao, here is the truly damning statement:
"In 1947, when Mao Tse-tung was being challenged within his own party, on his plan to basically take China over, Chiang Kai-shek and the nationalist Chinese held the cities, they had the army, they had the air force, they had everything on their side and people said how can you win, how can you do this, how can you do this against all odds against you, and Mao Tse-tung said 'You fight your war and I'll fight mine.' Think about that for a second, you don't have to accept the definition of how to do things and you don't have to follow other people's choices in the past."
Mr. Obama has surrounded himself with some very odd advisors. First there was Mr. Obama's very long standing friendship with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, two committed communist terrorists. Then, there was 9/11 "truther" Van Jones, who was thrown under the bus and lost his "green jobs" czar role for having made some very revealing statements, not the least of which was admitting to being a committed communist.
"I met all these young radical people of color - I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of... I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary...I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th..By August, I was a communist."
Then, there is science advisor John Holdren who advocates forced abortions and a "planetary regime" to forcibly control population and of course Mr. Obama's legal advisor Harold Koh.

Koh, has spoken out in support of enacting sharia law in the United States and regularly discounts the concept of the US Constitution as the supreme law of the land. His preference is for global, or transnational arrangements. Mr. Koh authored the still-confidential legal advice the Obama administration has used to brand the constitutional removal of Honduras's Chavezista president "a coup".

Of course, we can't leave out Valerie Jarret, who's father Vernon, was a die-hard communist in the Chicago Communist Party.
She’s {Valerie Jarret} always been the other side of Barack’s brain.” That’s how an Obama insider described Valerie Jarrett...Today Valerie Jarrett serves as one of three Senior Advisors to President Obama. She is Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, and Chairs the White House Commission on Women and Girls...Frank Marshall Davis works closely in communist causes with Vernon Jarrett in Chicago. Davis moves to hawaii where he eventually meets and mentors a young Barack Obama. Then Obama moves to Chicago where his career is promoted by both Davis's old colleague Vernon Jarrett and the Communist Party. Vernon Jarrett's daughter-in-law employs Barack Obama's fiance, befriends the family and becomes one of President Obama's most trusted advisers. The Communist Party throws its entire weight behind Obama's presidential campaign.

See Newzeal.blogspot.com for an genuinely in depth vetting of Mr. Obama's closest advisors. http://newzeal.blogspot.com/2009/06/obama-file-78-smoking-gun-proof-that.html

These then are Mr. Obama's closest friends and advisors, yet, Major Media stil refuses to vet Mr. Obama, or his associates. Can we as a country afford to continue allow these kinds of advisers to continue. Especially if they despise what America stands for...can we?
