No one provokes me with impunity

Article 1, Section 9, Constitution of the United States

If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

David Obey To Retire

Another one bites the dust...when you're a powerful chairman of the appropriations committee, you don't "retire" in a very difficult year unless your chances of reelection are vastly reduced. This is the 3rd senior member of the Dem leadership in the House to choose retirement...rather than (in the words of the "great" James Earl Carter) be "retired by the electorate."
The surprise retirement of House Appropriations Committee Chairman Dave Obey is a blow to Democrats
Of course, Harry Reed looks to lose his seat...he'll be the 2nd consecutive Democratic Senate Majority leader to lose his seat...look for much more of this in the coming months.

Trillions spent, and 30 million are still out of work.
