...but then, that was before Obama turned on Israel.
Now, in this McLaughlin & Associates poll that was taken earlier this month and release on April 14, 2010, shows a very different picture.
I. A plurality of Jewish voters would consider someone else for President. If this sort of numbers continue to hold, then the fund raising ability of Mr. Obama will be very, very differnt. While it's not true that all jews are wealthy, very many of them do contribute significant sums to Democratic politicians...but also WITHOLD those funds when they get pissed at said politicians...(see Jimmy Carter and his 30 years of antipathy towards Jews who DIDN'T donate to him as they did Ted Kennedy). If Mr. Obama continues to punish and push Israel at the same time he has been soft-soaping Iran, Venezuela and North Korea...then his ability to raise money in the Jewish community will be seriously hampered.
According to the 2008 exit polls, Barack Obama won 78% to 21% among Jewish voters. Now, in the second year of Obama’s presidency, only 42% of voters would re-elect him, while the plurality (46%) would consider voting for someone else.
Would you vote to re-elect Barack Obama as President or would you consider voting for someone else?
Total
Re-Elect 42
Someone Else 46
Don’t Know/Refused 12
UPDATE: Roger L Simon at Pajamas Media has a thread going on about this. Some of the comments are interesting. Take the time to read it if you can.

Hillary ain't doin' herself any favors either by continuing on as Sec of State with this anti-Israel SOB. She needs to resign fairly quickly if she hopes to make a run in 2012.
But honestly, short of relieving himself on the Western Wall, I am not sure what could turn younger Jewish voters away from him completely; and there is no way they'll ever vote Republican.
