Mikulski Wants To Delay Her Announcement To Raise More Funds
Journalists from AP are scrambling around attempting to find the leak of the Mikulski retirement story. The Maryland Sentor's office is putting pressure on reporters as she wanted to make the announcement of her retirement after gathering more campaign funds. Evan Bayh, the Sen from Indiana had a $13 million campaign chest on hand for his reelection, and Ms. Mikulski feels that she could raise an additional $3 - 4 million prior announcing her retirement. Now with the story of her pending retirement now out in the light of day she feels that her funding sources will dry up and then head to other candidates.
Politics - what an honorable profession - just above a whore. Mikulski is no exception...
UPDATE: While many are panning my two articles on Ms Mikulski...her office has yet to make an announcement of any type. The only announcement has come from a spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Above, really? At least hookers are upfront about what they're doing. I'd say your average politician is well below your average hooker on the honesty scale.

Good line, I like it. Have to agree with Miss Tammy though in an average hooker being above a politician on being honest.
How can anyone can be in favor of eliminating the privacy of vote without admitting that they are against American values?
Not that the so-called Democratic Party seems to care. What the heck, it will get them votes.
Regards,
Rich-
I have been skeptical of your "reporting" starting yesterday. Now I know with this latest post you are simply looking for ways to increase the readership of your blog.
The first question I have for you is why would anyone close to Mikulski leak a story of this size to a conservative blogger? Mikulski is a very skilled politician and one thing she knows how to do is control the people that work for her. She has a very loyal group of employees and supporters.
Additionally who do you know in the media that has told you that the Senator is trying to delay her retirement due to the fact that she wants to raise more money? This simply doesn't make sense. Unlike Bayh once Mikulski retires she is done, she has no use for any additional money. Bayh on the other hand is potentially looking at a presidential run in a few years, Mikulski is not.
You set the Maryland blogosphere on fire yesterday with this anonymous source. Once people know that she is not retiring your blog will go back to being unread and nothing more then a place for gossip.
Bravely said...anonymous
Heh -I thought the same thing about "Anonymous".
Ron Snyder
Oddly enough, I have very little respect for "anonymous". If you have the courage to post a comment...then be an adult and put your name to it.
Thanks for stopping by Ron.
I agree with anonymous, while I think he should have put his name.
What you are doing is nothing but gossip. If you are trashing the person who posted as anonymous then why don't you tell us who you "source" is?
Tim,
If I"m wrong, I will lose credibility and my readership will shrink to nothing...but if I'm right, and what I'm reporting isn't gossip, will you then come back and say so?
No, I will not reveal my source as it would hurt him for "blowing the whistle". I believe that's called journalistic ethics. But seriously though, thanks for coming by and taking the time to comment, I do apprciate it.
Rich, don't be concerned about people being skeptical of your reporting. You said right up front that you had "an impeccable" source," and surley none us of thought that source was Mikulski.
The urge to raise more money before stepping down is exactly what a Liberal would do, especially after one of their own showed them the way.
If she was planning to retire after raising more funds, you certainly put a big cog in her little wheel.
It will be interesting to see what happens next.
