No one provokes me with impunity

Article 1, Section 9, Constitution of the United States

If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

If Health Care Passes...

To put it simply...If Mr. Obama does manage to ram through his ill-conceived health care seizures, what occured in Massachusetts will happen all over the country. He has looked down his nose at Americans openly telling us that he's not "explained this bill well enough." That's not the problem. The problem is, is that it's a terrible piece of legislation that will hobble the economy for generations. Thus it's extraordinary unpopularity.

It's not as if the GOP hasn't put forward proposals, but this administration, has spent that past 6 months attempting to use it's large majority in Congress to seize for the government 1/6th of the economy. The more the public learns, the less they like the proposal. If this administration through it's prime ministers (Mr. Reid & Mrs. Pelosi) do manage to ram this through, the loss of a Senate seat in Massachusetts will seem...calm in retrospect.

Michael Barone of the Washington Examiner reviewed the electoral returns for all 435 Congressional Districts as well as the 34 Senators who were up for reelection in 2008. Using that data as a base line...and taking into account, he believes that 16 of the 17 Democratic Senators up for reelection will lose. Additionally, he believes that presently, there are only 103 "safe" Democratic seats in the House this years. That's out of 256 seats the Dem's currently hold. Think about that. That means there is the real possibility of a massive wave of losses for the Dem's as 153 seats in the house and 16 in the Senate would mean. A turnover of this magnitude hasn't occurred since 1816-20 when the Federalist party dissolved.

Think about it...the country overwhelmingly opposes the bills presently before Congress, by nearly 60%...if Mr. Obama, Mr. Reid and Mrs. Pelosi do ram through this bill...it will mean the destruction of the Democratic Party for at least a generation. The electorate is angry...look at the Tea Party. You can write them off as a far right wackjob, but here in blue Maryland, they are all the moderates...and mostly independent voters.

Many voted for Obama...because they thought they were getting a "pragmatic centrist," which is how he ran for president. But he's not. The media willingly painted him as such and are still schilling for his agenda. But he's lost independents by more than 2-1...think about that. Independent voters got him elected, not Democrats. Independents are fleeing the Democratic Party in droves...
