Article 1, Section 9, Constitution of the United States

If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

What To Do About "Global Warming"?

If you're really serious? A recent study has been released showing that there are deposits of natural gas within the continental US that, if properly exploited would last at least 100 years (that's if we built gas-fired eletrical generating plants to replace ALL of the coal-fired plant existant today). Then there's the problem of nuclear power..."greens" (in the persona of Greenpeace) have been opposing nuclear power for more than 30 years. So much so that they have stifled the building of new plants within this country since the 1980's through an overly complicated and expensive regulatory process.

One of the founders of Greenpeace-Dr Patrick Moore--on the other hand, has come to the conclusion that this policy has been, shall we say misguided. His take has been that by refusing to exploit our reserves of uranium and plutonium we have made a huge mistake that has force us to build several hundred coal-fired power plants. The French and the Japanese have taken the initiative to use nuclear power plants to produce 75% of their electrical power generation. We have a lot of ground to make up. We have enough raw materials to last at least 1000 years...WITHOUT ADDING ANY CO2!

I'm only the son of a "rocket scientist" but this is one of those things that begs the question: Why are we not exploiting this NOW? really why?
