Article 1, Section 9, Constitution of the United States

If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

Dem's to Pelosi, Don't Tax Cadillac Plans

More than 150 Democratic members of Congress have started urging Mrs. Pelosi drop her plan to institute harsh taxes on "Cadillac" health insurance plans. Such taxes would greatly increase the burden on both employers and workers who have them.
“Real life experience with both health insurers and inelastic markets for services such as health insurance has clearly warned us that this tax will be passed along to insurance payers,” wrote Rep. Joe Courtney (D-Conn.), who is spearheading the effort.

All of the plans presently being considered have massive tax hikes associated with them. Nearly all are hidden. On Tuesday, Mrs. Pelosi finally acknowledged that a Value Added Tax is now formally being considered in the House. Such a tax would seriously stifle any possible economic recovery and send thee country much further into depression than we already are.
