No one provokes me with impunity

Article 1, Section 9, Constitution of the United States

If this is the law of the land...why in a republic (little r) and as republicans, do we allow mere POLITICIANS to the right to use a "title of office" for the rest of their lives as if it were de facto a patent of nobility. Because, as republicans, this should NOT be the case...just saying...

The Most Ethical Congress Ever

Once upon a time, the incoming Speaker of the US House of Representatives stated that the Congress she presided over would be "...the most ethical Congress ever". Unofortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.

1. William Jefferson, D, LA was convicted of abusing his office for his own profit.
2. Jack Murtha who is famous for enriching his family at the public trough...and was an unindicted co-conspirator in ABSCAM thirty years ago.
3. Charles Rangel, "forgot" to file in his financial disclosure forms until amended, adding more than $3,000,000.00 to his net worth...and via Ed Morrisey & www.Hotair.com: CBS 2 HD has discovered that since ethics probes began last year the 79-year-old congressman has given campaign donations to 119 members of Congress, including three of the five Democrats on the House Ethics Committee who are charged with investigating him. So it's rather hard to believe that anything will come of the House Ethics investigation.
And these are just the tip of the iceberg...

The Senate is no better.

1. Look at Chris Dodd, D CT, he was gifted with an Irish cottage worth almost a million dollars. Additionally, he recieved mortgages from a company his Senate Finance Committee overseas, yet the Senate found him not to be in violation of Senate rules by accepting a deal that was unavailable to the general public.
2. Kent Conrad, D ND, accept yet another sweeheart mortgage deal.

But over-riding all this is one key fact...to which party do all these people belong to? And because of that affiliation, they will never (excepting only Mr. Jefferson), ever be brought to the bar of justice. On the otherhand, one can only hope that their voters will wake up to what cretans represent them in the Congress and Senate.
